My husband has diabetic nerve pain in his feet. A few weeks ago he asked me if he had something on the bottom of his foot. Nothing looked abnormal (for him). That was when he showed me a paint stick that was broken in half. It had fallen into his shoe without him noticing. He then proceeded to wear the shoe for a few hours while working on his truck. The sock was stiff where the paint had leaked, and upon closer inspection I could just make out the line on his foot where it had sat. Between the white “noise” of the pain that he has constantly and really good shoe cushions he never knew it was there!
I read all 56 of the original Nancy Drew books when I was a kid. In the third book they introduced cousins “George” and “Bess”. I don’t recall which name George was short for, but they said she was called that because of being a tomboy.
After my cat died occasionally I would up in the middle of the night because it felt like he had jumped on the bed with me. He actually didn’t sleep with me at night, so it was weird. When I would nap during the day though he was always there. When a tornado hit our house in 2011 I had laid down at 1 pm. A few hours later I woke up and went to the bathroom window. I had never seen an actual tornado. I still haven’t. I don’t know why, but I ran to my closet. The roof collapsed on my bed. My husband had to move parts of it to get to my closet. As soon he got me out I went searching for Mischief. I finally found him underneath my daughters’ bunk bed. Their room just had nail pops, so he was safe. I moved his litter box and food in there until we could get everything sorted. I still have his stuffed giraffe. Cancer sucks.
When my mother worked the restaurants always used 8% of the sales for taxing. In truth there were tables that tipped way more than that, but then you had the guy that bought a cup of coffee and sat there for hours getting refills. He would then tip the quarter change. Needless to say 8% was never a true figure.
Can anyone tell me the names of two of the dogs.I know Linus and Bruce.I can’t remember the dog the was adopted at the same time as Linus. I guess that is the brown, fluffy one. I tried searching the blog, but there are just too many pages. I did get to see sweet Maggie again. I switched from the main blog to the “life” folding. I guess Frank never labeled the blogs where he got Linus and the other dog, because it jumped from Maggie’s death to Lucy’s. That dog was such a brat. Watching Frank chase after her was hilarious.
